If you're typing in a different language, you may want to also change the interface of Word in this language. Whether you need to change the editing language, proofing tools or even the user interface, Word has a way.
Adding language packs for Office
The first thing you'll want to do is add a language accessory pack for the language you wish to use. These modules languages are completely free and are available for a 32-bit or 64-bit architecture .
Once on the page of the Office's linguistic accessories module, select eThe version Office you are currently using. You will find the three tabs available under "Step 1: Install the Language Accessory Pack.
In the drop-down list, select the desired language. We will use Japanese in this example.
Once selected, the details of the language module appear below. On the right side of the window, choose the download corresponding to the architecture you are running under Windows.

You will now be asked to choose where to download the application. Do it, then save. Then find and open the app. Office will then guide you through the installation process.

To make sure the language pack has been installed correctly, open Word, then select" Options at the bottom of the left pane. (If you have a document open in Word, you will need toedge click on the "File menu, then on " Options ".
The "Word Options " window appears. In the options pane on the left, select "Language ".
In in the " Choose editing languages "section, you should see your languages installed.
Now that the language pack is properly installed, let's take a look at some of the available language settings.
Definition of the language of editing and verification
In the list of available languages in the "Choose editing languages " section, select the desired language. Then select the "Set as default " button on the right.
A message will appear informing you that the selected language of edition will take the next time you launch Office. It also warns you that some of your settings may change, so take note. If you agree to go ahead,select "Yes ".
It takes everything to configure the editing language and verification. If, however, the language says "Not activated under" Keyboard layout, click the link and follow the instructions to add the language pack.
Defining the display and help languages
It is now time to change the language of the Word user interface. This will change the buttons, menus, commands, and notifications of'help.
We will continue to work in the "Word Options " window. This time, look for the "Choose the display language" section. You will see two separate menus here: "Display language " and "Help language ". Select the desired language for both. You will also need to select "Set as default " for both. When you're done, click "OK ".
You will now be prompted to restart Office. This is necessaryfor the new language to take effect.
Close and reopen Word to make sure it works properly.
